JUICE LUBES - SUSPENSION AND WORKSHOP

Today's article gives advice on what to grease forks, shock absorbers and seatposts, what to put in the tyres, how to prevent aluminium joints from sticking together, how to fight against carbon parts spinning and slipping and what to wash your hands with before turning off the lights in the workshop.

Juice Lubes Fork is a spray to protect and lubricate all sliding components - fork, shock, seatpost.

The fork is perhaps the most expensive component on your bike, so it makes sense to lubricate it. You wouldn't ride without a lubed chain either, would you? By using Juice Lubes Fork, in addition to lubrication, you also prevent dirt and dust from building up on the sliders = more protection from scratches = less dirt on the outside of the fork = your fork will last longer. It also treats all rubber parts and increases sensitivity to the most subtle impacts. It also doesn't bind dust to itself, because after spraying, the "carrier" evaporates and leaves a long lasting dry film on the skids that lubricates but doesn't stick to dirt.

We don't claim this is a replacement for service, but it also doesn't cost as much as servicing a fork :), Fork Juice is prevention, lubrication and protection.

Clean any dirt or grease from the inside of the fork legs or shock, and before spraying these areas, cover the brake discs, otherwise they will slide like a fork! If you're not sure the discs didn't catch it, use Juice Lubes Brake to clean the brakes.

Speaking of forks and shocks, it's worth noting that Juice Lubes offers a comprehensive line of shock oils in a variety of viscosities.

Juice Lubes also has a number of products that, more or less, shouldn't be missed in the workshop. Indispensable nowadays is the sealant for tubeless systems - "milk". JL summed it up succinctly in terms of features: 'A tubeless sealant that works in Phil Atwill wheels', as I'm sure Brendan Fairclough will confirm. The properties of this sealant allow you to ride lower pressures and get more grip, but it also works reliably at high pressures on road bikes. It's water washable - less "that seriously messy stuff" all over the place when handling. It will plug up to 7mm holes, revealing miniature leaks around the rim. The gentle formula is non-allergenic and won't damage the rim, the valve, the tire, the tape, nothing. If you forget you don't have a tube, it will last a very long time in your wheels - effectively 6-9 months and is compatible with all tubeless and UST systems. It's available in a 5l service pack, in a classic 500ml pack, and also in a 140ml soft pouch.

Vaseline is another workshop essential. Juice Lubes Bearing Juice is a grease mixed specifically for use on wheels. Head compounds, center compounds, hub compounds, etc.

As soon as the lubricated bearings spin, Bearing Juice starts its magic lubricating juice. It also fights moisture and keeps your components fresh longer. It's wipe-resistant and stable, giving you more time on the bike and less time in the shop.

What you will definitely appreciate in are the aluminum and carbon paste. The aluminum paste, named somewhat unkindly AAS Juice, combats cold welding/growing of aluminum components, annoying squeaking of some joints, and not having to buy new cranks along with your new pedals because your old ones failed to come loose. Works anywhere there is an aluminum/aluminum, metal/metal connection - center, head assemblies, pedals in cranks, etc.

Carbon Juice carbon paste is a blessing for anyone who struggles with handlebar sag in the stem or a sagging seatpost. Carbon is smooth, that's what it is, and by tightening up with a two-foot lever and a swollen vein on the stem, you'll probably do more harm than good with carbon components. Simply clean the mating surfaces of where the carbon is in contact with carbon or other material and apply Carbon Juice. Then tighten as instructed. The carbon paste creates an anti-slip layer so the seatpost won't ride up, the handlebars won't spin, and you can ride off to victory and glory undisturbed.

Now just wash your hands. Hand Juice is a hand cleanser that will bring back the shine to your dirty paws. It works just like soap, but with grease-melting ingredients. In case anyone was wondering, it contains zero of the plastic beads that help scrub away dirt and are so characteristic of other products. Do you know what they're replaced with? Ground walnut shells. The nut content should be mentioned for those with allergies. Yeah, and they smell nice, too.

There. Done.
